Myanmar Rising
The situation unfolding in Myanmar is one of great heartache, and pain. Hundreds of thousands of people are protesting, and are refusing to back down after the military coup. At the heart of the problem in Burmese government is the fact that the military is a private organisation that operates on its own accord.
In a feudal society the military is able to partake in the electoral process, under the 2008 Burmese constitution the military has some of the seats in their parliament. Now in a true democracy the military cannot create, or affect policy only the elected party can do affect change through legislation. Burma’s rising star of democracy, and a woman of true intellectual rigour, and ethical responsibility is Burma’s true leader Aung San Suu Kyi Aung was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize while she was still under house arrest. Aung San Suu Kyi is burma’s bright star, although Myanmar has a long history of tyranny Aung San Suu Kyi is the leader Burma needs.
Democracy itself is predicated on equality, The Geneva convention is a useless document especially when the people have no weapons to defend themselves against oppression. The United Nations has done nothing, Biden must use some resolve, and there needs to be a strategic take-down of the Burmese military. The Burmese youth are not backing down, 50 young protestors have been shot since the Junta took over. The world cannot just watch, and…
